About Us

Advanced Independence Charity Welcomes you, your family and your friends to our unique Thrift Store. Our mission is to give individuals who deal with physical and or cognitive challenges the skills and training they need in order to gain and sustain employment, feel valued, be independent and a contributor to their community.

At Advanced Independence Glorious Treasures Thrift Store, individuals are taught all aspects of operating and running a thrift store. They participate in collecting donations, sorting and pricing, displaying and merchandizing, organizing, customer service, and completing sales. They do this with the assistance of Job Coaches who work with them daily, teaching, guiding and encouraging them along the way to success.

Cynthia Edhuine is the founder of Advanced Independence and Advanced Independence Charity. From the time Cynthia started Advanced Independence in 2007, it has been her desire to open a thrift store. Her vision has stayed consistent in providing a place for individuals who are labeled disabled to work, play, socialize, and learn and exceed even their own expectations.

On October 22nd of 2021, Cynthia once again met and succeeded in her goal. Advanced Independence Charity Thrift Store opened. There was a ribbon cutting ceremony, balloons and tasty treats for all in attendance. To date the thrift store's success has exceeded her expectations.

Advanced Independence Charity is stepping out on faith to accommodate more individuals to operate Glorious Treasures Thrift Store. We are pleased to announce that on March 8, 2022 we expanded the thrift store into a larger space. Store hours are Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Please come visit us, shop with us, make donations and tell others about our truly unique thrift store. Other ways to help in our mission of helping our individuals to be apart of our community is through: Fry’s Community Rewards Program, Amazonsmile, Arizona Gives Day, monthly/weekly donations, and opening a free checking account at Western Bank (Advanced Independence Charity receives $100 - just mention our name when opening your account).
